Recently my personal assistant and I made a trip to the AiShuo factory to try to get some answers to all the QC problems of late. Armed with both technical and non-technical questions, I was determined to try to get to the bottom of the issues with the MID816/A816 and other AiShuo made tablets. We’ve called 8” 4:3 aspect ratio tablets the “Goldilocks” of tablet sizes before and the Herotab 816 doesn’t disappoint. It’s also the first tablet we’ve seen that piles on Android 2.2 over a Samsung ARM Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor platform.  Its unique design has the same finish as the new Chrome CR-48 notebook for a consumer friendly but rugged appeal.

Brand Tablet Prices Leave Door Open For Shanzhai?
The iPad has shown that there is consumer demand for tablets, and in 2011 a whole lot of major brands will (finally) launch various models. When the iPad was launched it set the benchmark for pricing, with the expectation that Android tablets would be cheaper... cheaper even than the cheapest iPad. But as the major brands start releasing their pricing information, we’re finding that they’re setting their prices closer to the iPad range, leaving that sub-$400 area open for the Shanzhai.
